FAQs: Nutrition

Improve circulation, reduce pain and enhance wellbeing.

1. What is nutrition?

Nutrition is the science that studies how various nutrients affect the human body and its health. It helps us understand how to balance our diet to improve well-being, prevent disease, and enhance productivity.

2. What does a nutritionist do

A nutritionist can help create personalised nutrition plans, including an exercise program tailored to our individual needs. They can also recommend, provide therapy, or refer a specialist (psychologist, chef, aromatherapist, acupuncturist, osteopath, or kinetic therapist) for optimal results.

3. How long or how effective the nutrition plan, etc

Develops personalised nutrition plans: Nutritionists help create meal plans that take into consideration the client's individual needs, genetic characteristics, and goals.

Helps correct eating habits: A specialist can help replace unhealthy eating habits with healthier ones and develop sustainable healthy lifestyle habits.

Supports weight loss: A nutritionist can develop a dietary plan for weight loss and obesity management, provided the client does not have any severe medical conditions.

Improves quality of life: Helps enhance overall well-being through mindful eating.

4. Do I need to take a session, course or change my entire lifestyle

If your target is correcting a micronutrient or vitamin deficiency. In that case, you will be provided with a time-limited nutrition plan until the deficiency is fully replenished, as measured by symptoms and tests. In any other situation, a nutrition plan will be provided for a specific period until baseline changes are determined.

5. Apart from the dietary changes, what else will I get

In addition to individual consultations and nutrition plans, clients receive comprehensive support and motivation, a set of physical exercises, and recommendations for lifestyle adjustments.

6. Will I have to quit smoking or drinking if I’m not planning to?

No, but you will be advised of the benefits of quitting or limiting smoking.

7. Will I be provided with psychological support?

No, a nutritionist does not provide psychological care in the same sense as a psychologist, but they can help with nutrition-related issues with psychological components. A nutritionist focuses on nutrition and its impact on physical and mental health, but is not a licensed mental health professional.

8. How long will this last?

The duration of a nutrition plan is individualised and depends on your goals, but typically ranges from 1 to 3 months, after which a review and adjustment is recommended. During this period, the nutritionist works with the client to develop sustainable habits and achieve specific results, for example, using sample two-week menus in organised settings, which are then updated to reflect the need to adapt the plan to the client's current needs.

Individualised Approach: The nutritionist creates a plan based on your goals, needs, and body characteristics, so the duration is tailored individually.

Adjustment and Review: A follow-up consultation is usually held after 1 to 3 months to assess progress and adjust the plan, if necessary.

Flexibility: The plan is not a static document and can be modified based on your health status, lifestyle, and progress toward achieving your milestones.

9. Do I have to follow the same course until I reach the best results?

No, if the plan fails to work after more than two months of implementation. In this case, the plan is reviewed and updated. Such cases are isolated and identified when the recommended scenario is not followed more than 50% of the time.

10. Which factor is predominant in achieving the result

Principle 5: Moderate alcohol and caffeine consumption.

Principle 6. Physical exercise.

Principle 7. Possibility of using meditation and alternative therapies.

11. What if my home mates/ family won't support me?

If your family isn't supportive of your nutrition plan, it's important first to have an open conversation with them, explain your goals, and why it's important to you. Then, set clear boundaries to protect your goals, and remember that self-care and your well-being come first.

Steps to Solve the Problem

Open Communication: Clearly and honestly explain to your family why you've decided to follow the nutrition plan and what your goals are. Try to understand their concerns and worries by listening carefully.

Setting Boundaries: Don't be afraid to set clear boundaries. For example, if your family constantly offers you unhealthy foods, calmly explain that this doesn't align with your goals.

Self-Care: Remember that this is your health and your decision. It's essential to take care of yourself to achieve your goals.

Compromising: Try to find a compromise, such as cooking a new healthy dish together, so your family can experience and understand that healthy food can be delicious. This will help engage them and show that you're committed to eating together. Seeking External Support: If family support isn't possible, seek support from friends, colleagues, or professionals (such as a nutritionist or psychologist) who can help you achieve your goals.

Involve Your Family: Whenever possible, involve your family in planning and preparing healthy meals. Cooking together can make the process more enjoyable and help your family better understand what you're doing.

Respect Their Point of View: At the same time, try to respect their perspective and avoid conflict. The goal is to create a supportive environment for you and your family, not create tension.

Remember:

Respect: Respecting yourself and your family is key to building harmonious relationships.

Compromise: Finding a middle ground can help you balance your needs with your family's expectations.

Flexibility: Be prepared for the fact that your family may not fully support your decisions. In this case, it's essential to find a balance between your goals and your relationship with your family.

12. Can I share my plan with my family/ home mates

You can share and explain your plan, which will be tailored specifically for you. Your family members may partially adhere to the diet and exercise recommendations, but the nutritionist is not responsible for the results. Supplements are not recommended for family members.

13. How can I follow the plan if I'm going away/ holiday?

To stick to your nutrition plan while travelling, plan and inform your therapist of any upcoming changes. Your nutritionist's job is to create a plan that fits your lifestyle, whether permanent or temporary, including while travelling.

14. What can I do if I can’t get the supplements/ recommended products

You will be given a choice of products and stores that will meet your budget and other criteria.

15. How long do I have to follow the plan?

The plan is provided for a specific, strictly agreed-upon time, depending on the chosen consultation type.

16. What can I treat with nutrition recommendations?

Nutrition doesn't treat diseases; instead, it helps improve overall health through diet and lifestyle modifications. A nutritionist can help address issues such as excess weight, eating disorders, and micronutrient deficiencies and improve well-being, energy levels, and overall health. A nutritionist works with a person's individual needs, develops meal and exercise plans, and helps identify the connection between nutrition and health.

Weight issues: obesity or underweight.

Eating disorders: bulimia, anorexia.

Nutrient deficiencies: replenishing micro- and macronutrient deficiencies.

Improving overall health: increasing energy, improving well-being, and improving quality of life.

Disease prevention: reducing the risk of developing diseases through a mindful approach to nutrition and the use of dietary supplements where necessary.
